Speaker 1:There is a lot going on right now in my personal life. My personal life right now is loud, busy, chaotic, full and I am coming to you hot like a fajita from my vehicle. In this season of my life I've done a lot of recording from my car and I actually quite enjoy it. I normally turn off the AC so it's quieter and it's a better audio experience for you, but if I turn off my AC today, i will literally die inside this car because it's so hot, so you might hear that in the background. I apologize. So why am I escaping to my car today Because I currently have 31 people staying in my home. My entire extended family on Preston's side is here. They started coming in on June 28th. We're staying at my house until July 4th. Then July 5th we're all going up to my Bear Lake cabin, staying there to the 9th, and we're going to have 31 people there. So you can imagine what the inside of my home sounds like. And in case you can't imagine it, i've recorded a little snippet for you to experience it on your own And listen.
Speaker 1:That was not even crazy. That was at 9 am outside of my bedroom door this morning. And since I can't find a little corner, nook or cranny in my home to record this podcast, i got in my car and I drove And before I left I was stopped by my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law and they were like where are you going? And I was like I'm just going to jump in my car and go get some work done And I'll be back in a couple of hours. They both looked at me like I was crazy, like I had just said something completely off the wall, and my sister-in-law was like oh well, we're leaving soon and it will be quiet. And I was like, oh no, no, like you don't understand, it's really OK, like I enjoy going somewhere beautiful, parking my car and working. And right now I am parked in front of a pond and it is a beautiful summer day And there are people paddle boarding on the pond, there's people feeding the ducks, there's people fishing and I'm alone and it's quiet. And I actually have found with my ADHD, i enjoy working in different places. Is that crazy? Is that weird? Most of the time I drive up into the mountains and I find a really beautiful spot to park with a really beautiful, inspiring view, and I just get my work done.
Speaker 1:So whenever the Petersons get together Preston's family we only get together a couple times a year And whenever we get together, it's like we try to cram in as much as we can All of the recent birthdays, if there's any anything going on. So, for example, the first night we had a birthday party. The second night my sister-in-law had her friends over. Yesterday we had a baby blessing in my home, which was beautiful And it was for my sister-in-law and she invited her entire family. So we had at least over 50 people inside my home. That's what I really should have recorded for you yesterday because the sound inside my home was, i mean, it's indescribable.
Speaker 1:And there was one point where I am an introvert. I just I am okay with hosting, i am okay with being with family. I just need to be alone every now and again. That's why being in my car is so good for me And I decided to just escape to my bedroom for a little bit because it was so noisy And I just needed a little break. And I went inside and I shut the door and there's Preston sitting on the bed And I was like what are you doing here? And he's like there's just so many babies. I know, i know. And so it was funny because he's an extrovert, so he normally doesn't try to escape from any kind of party, he's normally the last to leave a party. But it was kind of funny because it was even too crazy for my extroverted husband.
Speaker 1:And don't get me wrong, if my family members listen to this, i'm gonna tell you honestly I do not mind hosting Press night. We both love hosting. I feel like I'm a very chill person. There's nothing in my house that the kids can break that I'm gonna freak out about. I like to go with the flow. I don't like to plan, they're gonna make the plan and they always do Like I got handed and I tenorated. It was beautiful And I tenorated broken down by the hour. I don't think I could create that if I tried, and so I love that they plan and I just go with the flow. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:But I do need to have moments, because I am an introvert to just recharge my own battery And my husband's an extrovert. Most of my in-laws are extroverts And I have found that that's something that my husband's had to learn about me. We've had to learn each other and how we both, you know, are in these kinds of situations. My husband's battery his battery gets charged when he's at a party. Same with my kids. They need that, they need that interaction, whereas for me, when we have all of these social events, when we have back to back to back to back parties, when we are with family 24-7, no matter what it is, i need to have moments where I can just be alone to recharge my battery, because those kinds of things drain my battery, deplete me of my energy and my stress just goes through the roof, and I would love to know. Over on Instagram, you can find me at Jenny underscore Peterson.
Speaker 1:Let me know, are you an introvert or an extrovert? Is any of this resonating with you? Where am I introverts at? Do you understand what I'm saying? Because this was hard for my husband to understand for a long time as an extrovert, and I had to tell him listen, i need to be alone, and it's not because I don't love you, i love you so much. I just need to be alone to recharge my battery. And he didn't understand. Like why can't I go with you? Like why can't you recharge your battery with me? Why can't? he just didn't get it. He gets it now. He understands now because we've been married for 19 years plus. he gets it now, in fact. Let me share a funny story with you. This is my ADHD showing.
Speaker 1:Okay, a few years ago, when I was in network marketing and top leader at my network marketing company, i went to convention. They had an annual convention And I was speaking at this convention and I think that we had almost 10,000 people there. It was a big event And I was really nervous to speak And I was well known in my company as a top leader And I don't know if you've ever experienced a annual convention for a network marketing company with thousands of people, but it's a lot And it's very overwhelming for the introverts. And I took my extroverted husband with me And I had to like hype myself up for these kinds of events, cause I know I'm an introvert, i know I'm gonna need breaks. My husband knows that I am going to need to be alone at some point in the day. He knows that I'm very well known in my company And I also wanted to be 100% true, authentic myself the way that I show up on camera, cause that's really who I am And I know that these people know that.
Speaker 1:And there's nothing more disappointing than meeting someone in real life that shows up on social media a certain way, only to find out that they are not that way. Cause I've experienced that firsthand And when I meet people in real life that we've only known each other on the internet, i want to give them my full attention, i want to give them a portion of my energy, I want to show up for that person, and so these kinds of events just drained me And I can't remember if it was like the second or third day of this convention And I have talked to tons of people. I mean, there's thousands of people at these things And I was starting to lose it. And it was the kind of thing where I couldn't even go to the bathroom without being stopped and talking to someone. But my husband could tell I was starting to lose it, that I needed to recharge my battery, and everybody was in different classes, different seminars.
Speaker 1:Me and my husband were out in the hall, we were alone And all of a sudden the bell rings to signal that it's time to change classes And all the doors open up And thousands of people start to flood into the hallway where we were. And I looked at my husband. I'm starting to panic, i'm starting to cry, and he pulls me into a janitor's closet and shuts the door. So here I am, hugging my husband crying it out in the darkness of a janitor's closet, while there's thousands of people on the other side of the door. And here's the thing I say to my husband I'm like you know what I really want to do right now? We should get it on inside the janitor's closet.
Speaker 1:He was like what? No, what if somebody comes in? I'm like nobody's going to come in, it's a janitor's closet. I'm like we should do that. I think that would really help me to just feel better, and he would not. He's like well, what if there's a camera in here? I'm like there's not a camera in here, plus, it's dark in here. Even if there was a camera in here, that's not going to capture anything. But no matter how hard I tried to seduce my husband inside this closet, he would not. And I was like I cannot believe you're saying no to this. I cannot believe you're saying no to this. I want to update my Facebook status because I'm pretty sure no other man on the face of the planet would say no to this. Anyway, so we didn't get in on in the janitor's closet. You know that would have been a cool story, but instead I get to tell you the story of how we didn't. So if you are listening and you are an introvert and you can relate and you have in fact cried inside a closet at a event like that, please let me know. I would love to know if I'm the only one. I hope you have enjoyed this sidetracked squirrel story from my ADHD brain.
Speaker 1:Now let's get back to what's going on in my current life with the families in town. It's a lot, and today, this afternoon, we're having another party. This is a birthday party for a one-year-old. I'm telling you, when we get together we pack it in, we pack in as much as we possibly can. Now for the 4th of July celebrations.
Speaker 1:Over the weekend we went to Stadium of Fire and if you live in Utah, oh my gosh, stadium of Fire for 4th of July. 10 out of 10 recommend It was phenomenal. It was my first time going. They had the band Journey sing. They had skydivers jump from the sky and land inside the stadium. They had fighter planes fly over the top. They had the best fireworks show I've ever seen. It was so much fun.
Speaker 1:And then tomorrow is 4th of July and we are going to a parade which the Grand Marshal I just found out today is all of the cast of the Chosen. Have you watched the Chosen, friend? if you have not watched the Chosen, it is amazing. I absolutely love it. It's a story of Christ's life and his apostles and I am all caught up on all the seasons and I am anxiously waiting for the next season to arrive. So the cast of the Chosen is going to be at the parade tomorrow. Then we're going to my aunt's house and we're having another 4th of July party. It's just like back to back to back parties. Then we're gonna go to one of my favorite places on earth and that is Bear Lake. It's Garden City, utah, and staying at my cabin And I will link my cabin in the show notes If you even if you're just curious, like I am, and you wanna see what all the rooms look like, we do Airbnb it. It definitely fills up during the summertime, like next summer is almost fully booked. It is such a fun place to take your family.
Speaker 1:I took my girls and two of their friends to the cabin last weekend just a girls trip, and my soul was so happy, starting with just the drive to get to the cabin itself. So the last 45 minutes we go through the mountain canyon and you're driving between the mountains. There's a river that runs through it. It is breathtakingly beautiful the mountains, the forest, the wildflowers, the river, the wildlife, all of it. And I have a love-hate relationship with this drive because we lose cell phone service during the canyon drive, which I appreciate, because then all of my kids are not on their phones and they're looking out the windows. And I also get scared, though, because I'm like what if something happens? Like what if I hit a moose. What if I pop a tire? Like, what am I gonna do? And I don't know about you, but I don't normally like lakes lake water It's normally brown, dark, you can't see what's underneath you. But Bear Lake is called the Caribbean of the Rockies for a reason. It is this beautiful turquoise blue. It is gorgeous And, if I'm being honest, i actually prefer to have like our entire family at our cabin instead of our house, even though our house is bigger, just because our cabin is set up for large families.
Speaker 1:It can house a lot of people. It has a lot of bedrooms, it has everything you need to have a bunch of people stay there, so it's more accommodating for a family of 31. So, even though I was just there a week ago with a mom daughter trip, i'm excited to go back And I'm sure we're gonna be doing a lot of the same things that we did last week, like swimming, we're taking the jet skis, we're taking paddle boards, we're gonna go on hikes, we're gonna go to the adventure park and do the ropes course or the zip line. We might even rent some ATVs or side by sides. It's just my happy place And I love our cabin view.
Speaker 1:We're at the very top of a hill. It's very steep If you're driving in the winter you have to have an all-wheel drive vehicle kind of steep but it has the most beautiful view. It's a million dollar view. And I love sitting on the wraparound porch at all times during the day and just looking over the water, looking over the lake. That's my happy place. It makes my soul so happy.
Speaker 1:So that's what's going on in my personal life. It's very loud, it's very busy, it's very full. It's very chaotic right now, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Honestly, i love my family. I hear people all the time complain about their in-laws and I won the lottery with my in-laws. I have the best in-laws. I get along with my brother and sister-in-laws. They're very close, tight family and I wouldn't trade them for the world. They're absolutely amazing. And my personal life right now is crazy and my business life right now is crazy too.
Speaker 1:We just had another record-breaking month. We're getting ready to launch a brand new product in July, which I can't tell you about yet, but if you wanna find out about it first, you're gonna wanna pull out your phone and text me. My phone number is 385-220-8658. And you're gonna wanna text the word secret. That's it. Text the word secret. That will add you to my texting list, and my texting list is gonna be the very first people Before I come on the podcast, before I go to social media the very first people to find out what this new product is. I'm so excited. It is hard for me to keep a secret, but I cannot wait for you to learn more about the product that we're launching And I also came from a product testing this last week.
Speaker 1:Oh, my gosh, the products that we have lined up that are in the pipeline. I am so thrilled about specifically one product in mind that is coming pretty soon. I cannot wait. I cannot wait. I cannot wait. And if you're like, wait, what are you talking about? I own a business called You. It is a nutrition supplement wellness company.
